Founded in New York in 1922, our organization began as a small summer camp dedicated to serving boys facing academic and behavioral challenges. In those early years, the welcoming shores of our first lakeside site provided a safe sanctuary, a place for children to experience joy, friendship, and structured support.

Our Vision & Values
We envision a world where neurodiversity is celebrated, where every child feels included and valued, and where schools, families, and communities work hand-in-hand to support emotional well-being and lifelong success. By modeling empathy, respect, and resilience, we aim to shift cultural expectations so that all young people receive the encouragement and resources they deserve.
At CampRamapo, our mission is to empower children and young adults with social, emotional, and learning differences to discover their strengths, build meaningful connections, and achieve personal growth. Through nurturing environments, evidence-based programming, and compassionate guidance, we help every participant unlock their full potential and thrive in community.
