Overnight Summer Camp

Each summer, our 240-acre Riverside campus becomes a vibrant community where campers with social, emotional, and learning differences thrive. From sunrise hikes and arts workshops to evening campfires and talent shows, every activity is thoughtfully adapted so that each child can fully participate and shine. Our overnight camp emphasizes:

  • Ages: 6–16
  • Session Length: 1–4 weeks
  • Camper-to-Counselor Ratio: ~1:1
  • Individualized Planning: Before arrival, families and campers meet with our clinical team to set personalized social and emotional goals.
  • Therapeutic Support: Licensed counselors and behavior specialists embed therapeutic strategies seamlessly into daily routines.
  • Skill Building: Through cooperative games, problem-solving challenges, and leadership roles, campers grow in confidence, communication, and self-regulation.
  • Community & Fun: Traditions like the “Buddy Lantern Walk” and “Camp Olympics” foster deep friendships and a sense of belonging.

Day Camp

For families seeking a structured, supportive summer experience closer to home, our Day Camp combines engaging activities with targeted social-skills coaching. Campers rotate through themed clusters Nature & Science, Creative Arts, Athletics & Wellness and participate in daily small-group “Check-In Circles” to practice communication and emotional awareness. Highlights include:

  • Ages: 5–15
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
  • Adaptive Recreation: Swimming in our heated pool with trained lifeguards, obstacle-course challenges, and cooperative team sports.
  • STEM Adventures: Hands-on experiments, robotics, and maker labs designed to ignite curiosity.
  • Creative Expression: Music, theater, and visual-arts workshops led by experienced instructors.
  • Family Fridays: Weekly showcases where campers share projects and achievements with loved ones.

Staff Assistant Experience

Our transitional living program empowers young adults with social, emotional, or developmental challenges to acquire the life skills needed for independent adulthood. Participants live on-site with peers and work one-on-one with a “Life-Skills Coach” to:

  • Ages: 18–21
  • Duration: 10-Month Residential Program
  • Master Daily Living: Meal planning, budgeting, transportation, and time management.
  • Build Vocational Skills: Resume writing, mock interviews, and on-campus internships in hospitality, groundskeeping, or administration.
  • Foster Social Confidence: Group workshops on communication, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy.
  • Plan for the Future: College-prep sessions, workplace tours, and connections to local support networks.

Ramapo Training & Coaching

We partner with schools, community centers, and agencies to deliver interactive workshops, on-site coaching, and virtual webinars grounded in our proprietary “Ramapo Approach.” Whether your goal is to reduce disciplinary referrals, strengthen classroom community, or support neurodiverse learners, our offerings include:

  • For Educators, Youth Workers & Families
  • Positive Behavior Supports: Strategies for creating inclusive environments and proactive behavior plans.
  • Restorative Practices: Facilitated circles and mediation techniques to foster accountability and repair.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Understanding the impact of stress and adversity on learning and behavior.
  • Family Engagement: Parent workshops on emotional coaching, sibling support, and community resources.

Team-Building Retreats

Our customized retreats leverage outdoor adventure and experiential learning to strengthen communication, trust, and problem-solving skills. Activities are fully adaptable to group size, age range, and mobility levels, and can be hosted on-campus or at partner facilities. Core retreat elements:

  • Groups: Schools, Sports Teams, Corporate & Nonprofit Groups
  • Length: 1–3 Days
  • Low-Ropes & High-Ropes Courses
  • Cooperative Challenges (e.g., “Spider Web,” “Blind Trust Walk”)
  • Guided Reflection Circles to process lessons and reinforce goals
  • Follow-Up Resources for sustaining positive culture back at your organization
